Alicante Airport (ALC)
Airport Information

(Alicante, Spain)

Located to the south-west of the Costa Blanca town of Alicante in south-east Spain, Alicante Airport (ALC) was originally named El Altet and is the gateway to this region and the Costa Blanca. Alicante Airport currently sees close to ten million annual passengers and 80,000 aircraft movements, most of which arrive on international flights with mainly charter airlines.

Alicante Airport stands in the city of Elx and within the Elche municipality, close to Santa Pola and the Mediterranean coastline itself. The busy A-7 and N-332 motorways lie next to the airport, while Alicante city centre is just 9 km / 6 miles to the north-east. The most popular destinations include Barcelona, London, Madrid and Mallorca.

The main mode of transport from the airport to Alicante, Murcia and the coast's beaches are buses and taxis. Scheduled buses run every hour to Alicante central bus station, while other services connect the Plaza del Mar, Paseo del Soto, Avenida de Europa and Avenida Catedrático Soler, and further afield, Murcia and Benidorm. Hotel and resort shuttles serve those on package holidays, while taxis are readily available, linking Alicante Airport with popular destinations, such as Calpe, Denia, Santa Pola and Torrevieja.
